Biographical Info:
Married 2 children, 4 grandchildren Live in Spring Lake Park (30 years) Graduate Irondale High School, 1982; Bethel University, 1986 Teacher/Coach (36 years) Active member at New Brighton Christian Church since 1976 Served in MN State Senate 2010-2012 (SD 51); committees: Education, Transportation, Local Government
Since leaving the State Senate in 2012, I founded and was the director at Life Prep Academy, a school and dorm for homeless teens. Unfortunately, LPA had to close its doors in July of 2021, because of the hardships brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. We were funded by donations and run by volunteers. I am frustrated with how things are in Minnesota (and the country) right now, and felt compelled to once again get involved by running for office. Families are facing so many struggles: economic difficulties, rise in crime, education systems not focusing on academics, government taking away decision-making from parents.
