Biographical Info:
I am a longtime resident of Burnsville, Minnesota, a Certified Public Accountant with an active license, a mother of three adult children, and married to my husband, Chuck, for 41-years. I graduated from Burnsville Senior High School as a National Honor Society member and Magna Cum Laude from the University of St Thomas, St Paul, Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. I started my career at KPMG, an international public accounting firm, and specialized in banking, insurance, and government clients. After serving as an Audit Manager, I set my public accounting career aside to have a family and home-educate my children. From 2011 through 2014, I served two terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives as a member of Taxes, Capital Investment, Education Finance, and Education Policy in my first term and Taxes, Education Finance, and the minority-lead member of the Early Childhood and Youth Development Committee in my second term. During my four years in public office, I chief-authored four bills unanimously passed in the House and signed into law. I am an Alumnus of Minnesota Excellence in Public Service, a leadership, communication, and networking Fellowship and in 2013 I received the “Elected Woman of Excellence Award” from the non-partisan, National Foundation of Women Legislators. In 2018, I ran as the Republican endorsed candidate for Minnesota State Auditor and received the endorsement of the Star Tribune Editorial Board. From 2016 through 2018 I served as the President of the Minnesota Federation of Republican Women. Under my leadership, the organization doubled its number of clubs. I am a devoted Christian, attend worship services in the south metro with my family and I enjoy gardening, hiking, writing, adventuring to new coffee shops, and helping care for my daughter’s mini golden doodle.
