Biographical Info:
I was born in Moorhead, was raised in Oakport township, and graduated from Moorhead Senior High in 1981. Shortly after graduating high school, I enlisted in the US Army and spent almost 38 years serving our country. During my military career, I served on active duty in the US Army, as well as serving in both the Army National Guard and the US Army Reserve in many locations across the United States and overseas, including Honduras, Norway, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Poland, Serbia, Hungary, and Germany. I was honored to reach the rank of Colonel and retired from military service in 2020. I graduated from North Dakota State University in 1992 with a degree in Pharmacy. I became the first Director of Pharmacy with Innovis Health in Fargo. In 2006, I accepted my current position as Manager of the Cardinal Health Nuclear Pharmacy in Moorhead. In 2005, I was elected to a seat on the Moorhead City Council and served a four-year term. I currently live in Moorhead and have 7 children, Justin, Stephanie (Jake), Zachary, Kaylin, Samuel, Jack, Maximilian, and 3 grandchildren, Addison, Graham and Hadley.
Statement:
Like many of you, I have seen first-hand how decisions made in St. Paul have resulted in disastrous effects on our community. The actions of our state government have led to taxes that keep getting higher, a poor business climate, and the highest rates of violent crime in decades. As if that isn’t bad enough, we currently face inflation not seen in generations, with a government that thinks mandates are a way to lead, and a Governor that does not share the values of Greater Minnesota. I’m running for Senate because I believe that we must take immediate action to reverse the failing government here in Minnesota. As a lifelong resident of this District, I understand the needs of our communities and have the desire and ability to fight for our values in Saint Paul. After serving our country for nearly 38 years, I am now ready to serve the people of Clay and Becker counties in the Minnesota Senate.
